    Job Summary

    Oversee all aspects of library electronic resource management. Coordinate acquisitions, collection development, collections budget, collection assessment, cataloging/metadata, and personnel management related to library resources.

    Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks

    • Oversee administrative functions of negotiating, purchasing, licensing, acquiring, renewing, deselecting, evaluating, and financial management of electronic and print resources.
    • Prepare fiscal year budget and oversee encumbrance and expenditure of funds for all library materials.
    • Maintain access to and support interconnectivity of online resources via the Primo discovery layer, link resolver, and serials management tools.
    • Coordinate and manage resources acquired through consortia, including UT System, AMIGOS, and the Texas State Library TexShare program.
    • Coordinate IT support of library.
    • Oversee upkeep of CORAL, the electronic resources management tool.
    • Oversee cataloging and metadata management for all materials in the general collection, including ejournals, ebooks, music scores, databases, and print materials.
    • Gather and evaluate material usage statistics from a variety of sources.
    • Oversee the review and implementation of collection policies.
    • Facilitate evaluation of holdings for academic accreditation reviews.
    • Assist with data gathering for annual reports as needed, including ACRL, IPEDS, Provost's Annual Report.
    • Reinforce the work of library liaisons in collection development and management activities.
    • Work with the library director and all library staff to provide effective direction and enhance communication and cooperation within the library and the entire university community.
    • Train, supervise, and evaluate three (3) full time staff members and one (1) student worker.

    Minimum Required Education/Experience

    • ALA-accredited master's degree in library science.
    • One (1) year of relevant experience.
    • Five (5) years of experience in electronic resources management in an academic library preferred.

    Additional Information

    The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
