Position Description
Harris County Public Library (HCPL) - Administrative Offices
This position is responsible for becoming the subject matter expert on all information technology platforms across the library organization and holding regular training sessions for staff on those platforms. This position is also responsible for maintaining relationships across the organization by communicating IT projects and initiatives to staff and communicating staff needs to IT.
Duties & Responsibilities

Develops, plans and delivers regular training sessions for library staff

Test and troubleshoot library technology platforms
-
Evaluates and develops workflows for library applications
-
Creates training content to be shared on library intranet
-
Work closely with various team leaders for planning, managing, and implementation of changes
-
Perform issue management and facilitate issue resolution with proper notification to all affected parties
- Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:
Some duties would require exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds to force constantly to move objects.

What began in 1921 and the years following as a collection of small libraries housed in stores, post offices and private homes has grown into a system of 26 branch buildings, 2 technology service centers, and 2 partner locations offering collection/circulation services. HCPL operates branches in unincorporated parts of Harris County and cities which do not have their own library systems.

Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, from 8am – 5pm

Work Environment:
This job typically operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. At times, work can be performed in an outdoor environment and possible exposure to inclement weather or various temperature changes. Possible exposure to loud noises in the environment.
Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
