JOB TITLE: Libraries & Instructional Materials Coordinator

SALARY SCHEDULE: Click for Salary SchedulePRIMARY PURPOSE:To coordinate the acquisition, processing, storage, disbursement, and inventory of library and instructional materials in compliance with district/TEA policies and procedures. To ensure the accuracy and integrity of information in the instructional materials database, TIPWeb; and act as back-up system admin for the integrated library system (ILS), Symphony.
QUALIFICATIONS: Certification/Education:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Master's degree preferred
- Meets SBEC regulations and/or district requirements for teacher certification
- School Librarian Certification preferred
- Minimum three years teaching experience preferred
- Minimum three years school librarian experience preferred
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Minimum age of 21
- Pass criminal history and background check
- Pass physical and drug screening
Special Knowledge/ Skills/Experience
- Experience as campus and/or district level instructional materials manager preferred
- Experience with TIPWeb preferred
- Experience with Symphony ILS preferred
- Excellent computer skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, Office 365
- Experience with district software including, but not limited to: Skyward, Mizuni, Frontline, etc.
- Knowledge of curriculum integration based on the TEKS and current School Library Programs: Standards and Guidelines for Texas
- Knowledge of district curriculum
- Attention to detail and accuracy of records
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally
- Ability to work well with other district employees and outside vendors
- Ability to assess and respond to both short and long-term needs related to job responsibilities
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Reports to the Libraries & Instructional Materials Director
- Assists the Libraries & Instructional Materials Director guiding campus librarians and libraries to uphold district, state and national library standards
- Collaborates with the Libraries & Instructional Materials Specialists in coordinating data, inventory, weeding, training librarians, implementing initiatives, etc.
- Work with department, campus, and district level personnel, as well as vendors, to facilitate the district's annual instructional materials adoption process and IMTA purchases
- Work with department, campus, and district level personnel to facilitate policies and procedures related to the acquisition, processing, storage, disbursement, and inventory of instructional materials
- Communicate effectively with all department, campus, and district level personnel, and vendors, to ensure that campuses have the necessary instructional materials
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of information in TIPWeb, the instructional materials database
- Ensure compliance with district and TEA policies and procedures
- Provide individual and group TIPWeb training for district and campus personnel
- Work with department and campus personnel to ensure accurate accounting and disbursement of instructional materials
- Work with department and campus personnel to ensure accurate inventory of library materials
- Work with warehouse staff to ensure timely delivery of materials
- Work with warehouse staff to ensure an accurate district level IM inventory
- Monitor and follow up on backordered instructional materials and delivery of instructional materials
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to schedule delivery and pick-up of instructional and library materials
- Facilitate Instructional Materials department meetings
- Ensure warehouse compliance with all safety codes and fire regulations
- Follow district policies and departmental procedures
- Promote a positive and productive climate
- Performs additional responsibilities, tasks, and duties as determined by the Director of Libraries and Instructional Materials
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Daily supervision of Instructional Materials department employees
- Assist with annual evaluation of Instructional Materials department employees
- Assist with preparation, review, and revision of job descriptions as needed
- Promote a positive, safe, and productive work environment

- Must be able to stoop, bend and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Operate warehouse equipment, use ladder or step-stool to reach items on high shelves
- Dust - from boxes, new print items, packing materials; possible mildew
- Occasional travel to other district locations
