    Senior Specialist Position, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Library

     

    The TTUHSC Libraries in Lubbock seeks a Senior Specialist to work in the Public Services department. The main responsibility of this role is supporting student, faculty, and staff engagement at the three TTUHSC campuses located in Amarillo, Odessa, and Lubbock. This position reports directly to the Associate Managing Director.

     

    ABOUT US

    Located on the South Plains of West Texas, TTUHSC is a growing clinical and research institution with an enrollment of over 5,300 students in the Schools of Medicine, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, School of Health Professions, School of Nursing, School of Pharmacy, and Public Health. There are three physical campuses in Amarillo, Lubbock, and Odessa that support on-campus and distance education students. Nearby Texas Tech University is a vibrant, innovative academic center with over 40,000 students and a rich cultural atmosphere.

     

    JOB DETAILS

    Salary: $15.00 an hour.

    Job Type: Full-time, onsite.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO:

    - Create, edit, and publish original content that builds meaningful library community connections and engagement.

    -Collaborate with TTUHSC Library staff on all three campuses to create and edit instructional videos and presentation graphics.

    -Edit and coordinate the distribution of the library newsletter.

    -Create and develop library logo and branding.

    -Coordinate and collaborate with library staff on social media strategies and approaches for various audiences and ensure that communication is in accordance with HSC policy guidelines.

    -Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of social media strategies and make recommendations.

    -Investigate new trends and emerging technologies to enhance current marketing strategies.

     

    IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL NEED:

    - High school plus five years experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.

    - Experience using photography and video equipment, along with software like MS PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite and Final Cut Pro. Knowledge of closed captioning and specialized software such as JAWS and Creative Final Cut Pro.

    - Experience in graphic design, photography, video production, and social media.
