We are hiring a part time Library Assistant in the Creation Lab, the Flower Mound Public Library's makerspace.
This position assists patrons with using Creation Lab machines and resources, including but not limited to 3D printers, laser engravers, Cricut machines, editing software and scheduling software. Must be skilled in using a personal computer and various other types of office equipment, including but not limited to 3D printers, laser engravers, Cricut machines, sewing machines, embroidery machines, editing software and scheduling software.
Minimum Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and driving record must be in compliance with Town policy.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
One (1) year of public library experience is preferred.
Desired Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- Able and willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekend hours.
- Knowledge of the practices and principles of public library operations.
- Excellent English communicative skills, both oral and written, to include spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Skilled in using a personal computer and various other office equipment.
- Must be able to maintain good relations with the public and staff and demonstrate courtesy and tact in all situations.
- Must be able to understand and carry out oral and written directives, work well under pressure and stress, handle multiple tasks, prioritize and organize work assignments, maintain a pleasant and friendly demeanor at all times.
