Duties include supervising the activities of the Library's Technical Services work group, which is responsible for acquisitions, cataloging, processing, serials control, interlibrary loan of physical materials, and the library's digital collections. Responsibilities include developing and evaluating department goals and objectives; providing input to department budgets; hiring, training, and supervising direct reports; planning and participating in extended projects with cross-functional teams. The supervisor also performs original cataloging, ensuring the integrity of the bibliographic information describing the library's collection. This position functions as a member of the Library's management team by providing recommendations and vision regarding the integrated library system (ILS) and processes impacting library operational functions. Qualifications include A Master of Library Science degree from an American Library Association accredited college or university; a minimum of three years library experience, as well as one year supervisory experience in a library operations unit. Knowledge and understanding of standard American cataloging protocols are required. A résumé must be submitted with application.
