    Job Summary:

    A member of the Acquisitions team within the department of Access & Discovery. The team provides stewardship in sustaining the library's acquisition budget and "in-time" access to all information resources that the library has purchased and leased. The incumbent provides leadership in managing the life cycle of library resources. Work collaboratively with liaison librarians for outreach and scholarship.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provides leadership in acquisition and collection management operations. Coordinates library resource reviews, licensing, and vendor negotiations. Adheres to pertinent laws and regulations to practices sound internal control of University property. Collaborates with the A&D Department Head for license negotiation. Maintains positive and beneficial professional relationships with vendors.
    • Provides leadership in data driven decision making. Coordinates efforts to demonstrate return-on-investment for library resources. Collaborates with Subject Liaisons to proactively respond to campus teaching and research needs.
    • Acts as subject liaison to an academic department(s).
    • Assists users in discovering and accessing library resources. Troubleshoots collection access and discovery related issues. Safeguard legal and ethical use of library resources. Promotes Open Access and Fair Use.
    • Performs other duties assigned.

     

    Required Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in library and/or information science from an ALA-accredited program or a related graduate degree.
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
    • Proficiency in Windows Operating System and file management.

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Professional experience in knowledge management involving electronic resources and/or acquisitions
    • Knowledge and ability for license review and negotiation
    • Knowledge of the new scholarly communication climate and initiatives
    • Staff supervisory experience
    • Experience working with Alma
    • Experience creating statistical reports and managing usage data
