The 89th Texas Legislature convenes January 14, 2025 and we expect that libraries will once again be a focus of proposed legislation. Now is the time to prepare to advocate for libraries!

Join us at the Texas Capitol for a day of legislative advocacy training. Whether you are an experienced advocate, or just beginning your advocacy journey, this workshop will provide information and resources to help you navigate the upcoming session.

Legislative staffers will share their insights into how best to communicate with your elected officials, what information they find most valuable, and how to become a trusted resource. Additionally, members of the TLA legislative committee will review the resources available to help you feel confident in your advocacy. There will also be an opportunity to schedule a meeting with legislative offices while you are in Austin.
