    Job Summary: 
    The Professional Librarian Liaison to S.T.E.M. & Psychology will provide research, curriculum and information support to Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Engineering, Industrial Technology, Mathematics, Physics and Psychology. This position will provide a full range of information services to students and faculty for student success, teaching and Research. 

    Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks:
    Proactively communicate with on campus and distance constitutes about library services and resources.
    Provide research and reference service to constituencies.
    Provide on call general reference support.
    Develop instructional programs addressing library resources, information literacy and critical thinking skills.
    Promote instructional programs to faculty.
    Solicit feedback from faculty regarding research needs and assessment of potential new resources.
    Evaluate collections for weeding or retention.
    Create LibGuides and develop familiarity with Springshare products as needed.
    Participate collegially in library and university meeting and committees.
    Participate in relative professional organizations, attend meetings, publish present at conferences.
    Coordinate of library assessments.
    Other duties as assigned.
     
    Minimum Required Education/Experience:
    ALA Accredited master's degree.
    Undergrad study in STEM field or psychology.
    Experience working in a library preferred.
    Educational background in STEM preferred.
    Customer service experience preferred.
    Experience working with online instructional software (Canvas, Zoom, Soft Chalk, etc.) preferred.
    Experience with academic level instruction and or research preferred.

    Additional Information

    The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.

    This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code Section 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.
