Position Overview:
The ideal candidate must be able to exercise sound critical thinking and judgment to handle complex matters; and must possess excellent listening, problem-solving, oral, and written communication skills. In addition, the ideal candidate must be able to successfully collaborate with other library teams to ensure all levels of the customer (internal and external) experience are being taken into account. Prefer aptitude for learning, evaluating, and adapting to meet the needs of the organization and community.
Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
- Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, plus five (5) years of relevant experience, including two (2) years of experience which were in a lead or supervisory capacity.
OR
- Graduation with a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, plus three (3) years of relevant experience, including two (2) years of experience which were in a lead or supervisory capacity.
Preferred Experience:
- Professional cataloging experience.
- Experience as a lead or supervisor performing the following: supervising, training, evaluations, counseling and disciplinary recommendations.
- Experience working in a large urban library system.
- Experience working with and utilizing a library's ILS software applications like SirsiDynix-Symphony Workflows or other robust software applications.
- Ability to travel to more than one work location.
