    Description:
    East Texas Baptist University invites applications for a full-time, faculty position as Director of Library Services for the Mamye Jarrett Library.  The position begins in Summer 2023. The Director of Library Services develops a strategic plan for the library, assesses library resources and services, develops and manages the library print and digital collections, and leads the library faculty and staff. This position is responsible for the management of the library while advancing information literacy, lifelong learning, and the mission of ETBU.
    Qualifications:
    ETBU seeks a qualified individual with a Master's degree in Library / Information Science from an ALA-Accredited Institution.  Candidates should have at least five years of increasing responsibilities including supervisory experience in professional librarianship. Previous experience in reference, technical services, and archival areas are preferred. Candidates must have a strong commitment to academic library service, as well as the ability to communicate well with students and colleagues. Candidates must possess an appreciation and commitment to Christian higher education through the integration of biblical faith and learning. Candidates must demonstrate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Faculty must live lifestyles consistent with the University's biblical standards of morality, temperance, and stewardship, as well as membership and active participation in the faculty members' local Christian church. ETBU faculty are required to participate in the life of the University via faculty/department/school meetings, University Chapel services, prayer emphases, discipleship group studies, committee participation, local community ministry involvement, and attendance at campus activities and events.
