Eunice and James L West Library is located on the campus of Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, Texas. The library serves a diverse population of 2,619 FTE comprised of 31 Undergraduate and 5 graduate programs. 30% of our students are athletes and the university is recognized as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HIS.) The mission of Eunice & James L. West Library is to cultivate transformational learning experiences by providing access to collaborative spaces as well as diverse technology and resources allowing students, faculty, and staff to engage in scholarship and research. The Library facilitates success by cultivating lifelong learning, digital literacy, and critical thinking. While providing for the varied needs of the campus community the Library also serves as a cultural and intellectual resource for the local academic, library, and professional communities.
Position Summary:
Eunice and James L. West Library is a collaborative team that works closely with other library departments and campus faculty. The Collection Management Librarian works as a member of the librarian team to support the university's academic mission. This position assists with library assessment and accreditation of the University and its programs. The Collection Management Librarian leads the Technical Services Department by ensuring quality and efficient access to, preservation, maintenance, and sharing of the library's intellectual resources. The Collection Management Librarian's professional duties include advanced cataloging and developing perpetual collections by acquiring materials that meet the needs of the library's faculty and students. This position works closely with faculty and administration to implement and support Open Educational Resources (OER) endeavors across campus.
